I took my son on the Christmas Train in Antonino, Colorado. For our tickets, we donated toys to the US Marines’ Toys-for-Tots, and canned food to the local food drive. The steam train took us out a few miles into Colorado’s wild beauty and back to the station. We loved it!
After the train ride, we stopped by Our Lady of Guadalupe–the oldest church in Colorado. It’s a beautiful structure and worth a visit.
Along Hw 285, there is a war memorial for all of the good people of Conejos County who gave their all in WWI and WWII.
We were also near the birthplace of renowned boxer Jack Dempsey. So much history in the area!
