At the begining of summer, I bought my son some new baseball quipment: a new alluminimn bat, a new wooden bat, and ten new little league balls. With this upgrade in gear, we found he could hit farther, in fact he was starting to split the new balls. So I challenged him: if you spilt a ball before summer ends, I will buy you the largest sundae in town–and…

… he actually did it! He chose the Hot Fudge Volcano, and he sure enjoyed it.

While we were at the field practicing one day, he hit a line drive right into my eye! He hit it so hard, and so fast I could not move quick enough. The impact wrenched my glasses and left me sore for a few days. We still laugh about it, and he gets a summer trophy story to take to school.
