My day: spent the morning drinking coffee and hanging Christmas lights. Then a funeral. Then my niece’s dance recital (3 hours). Then home.

For dinner, we had venison stew and brown-bottle goodness, while listening to Paul Simon’s new album Stranger to Stranger. My son is building a python trap (in the middle of winter.) My neighbor came over with a bowl of chili to share.

We’re sitting in the glow of Christmas lights. I graduate this month. My friend gave me homemade elk jerky.

It’s all good.
