While driving through Grand Junction, Colorado. we stopped by the Colorado welcome center, I noticed the Vietnam War memorial accross the back parking lot.

I took my son over to look at the names on the black wall, we talked about how most of these guys were just kids out of high school and how the war took their young lives. We also talked about the importance of the Huey, what the campaign ribbon means, and the importance of the welcome-home bronze work. Everyone deserves to be welcomed home, especially after serving their country, but many weren’t. Perhaps this sacred space will bring some healing.
