We got up early to go on a little fishing and hiking trip at Pa-Co-Chu-Puk (Ridgway State Park, Colorado). We got there early and unpacked around 6:30am. We were early enough that a doe and her fawn came down the hill to get a drink right where set up for fishing. In the slideshow below, there is a deer in the center of each picture. The fawn is about the size of a puppy, but you can make out its tiny profile. It was worth getting up early just to see them!
This area is renowned for its fly fishing, but I can’t afford thousands of dollars in fly fishing gear(!). We just fish with small spinners and spoons. We usually do ok, but this morning we didn’t catch anything. We had a good time though, and made some good memories!
